The connections I relate to the novel are in the media kidnapping and murders are usual things and they broadcast it daily, but this book takes a kidnapping and a murder farther in depth and explores the feelings of a family and how God helps them heal. Those are the connections that relate this book and the media for me.
I can relate to this book because Mack goes through a very difficult time in his life when Missy is murdered. I myself have had hard times in my life and I know other people that have had to go through similar circumstances as Mack. The Shack can be easily related to because it shows the hard times in life and not just the good times.
The connections I can make are that we always here on the news about murders and kidnappings, and you usually here about the families actions, but you never hear their reactions with God or how the incident affects their faith like it does in this novel.
A connection I made is that a lot people have strayed away from their faith and do need a wake up call to get back to it. Another connection is there is a lot of crime everywhere and it does effect a lot of people.
